The AFIS-ALKIS-ATKIS model (AAA model) is the proposed application scheme for the information systems AFIS, ALKIS and ATKIS, the development of which was led by the Working Committee of the Surveying Authorities of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (AdV). The creation of this model enabled the consolidation of base data from AFIS, ALKIS and ATKIS to provide a uniform, redundancy-free geo database of data from Germany’s surveying authorities which encompasses the whole of Germany (AAA project). For this practical application, the Unified Modelling Language (UML) was used to describe contents and correlations. The application scheme consists of a base scheme and a top-level scheme (Fachschema). The base scheme gives descriptions of basic characteristics of geo objects, and thus provides a basis for expert information systems. The top-level scheme gives a classification of object classes, object type groups, object types and their attributes. It encompasses all information from property registers, as well as the topographic/cartographic and surveying operations of the land survey offices of all German states.

Since 2010 the states (Länder) provide ATKIS Basis-DLM geodata in different versions (3.2 and 6.0). The transition to the latest ATKIS version 6.0 (AAA model) was completed in the following years (Monitor time frames):
