Arable land is any site dedicated to the cultivation of crops (e.g. cereals, pulses, root crops) as well as berries (e.g. strawberries). Such sites are generally classified as forms of open space.
Arable land is considered to include rotational fallow land, permanent fallow land as well as sites that have been taken out of cultivation in order to obtain compensatory payments from the EU.
